In October 2019, more than 50 Mayors and Councillors from across Canada gathered in Victoria, BC as part of the Livable Cities Forum to discuss and share ideas on building social resilience, community belonging and inclusion as a key resilience strategy. The session culminated with elected officials finalizing a collective Call to Action for local leaders to advance work on the health, well-being and social cohesion aspects of resilience. The Victoria Call to Action was endorsed by those locally elected officials present as a call to themselves and other locally elected officials to take action and commit to six points of action.
